Silhouettes and the Sunrise

SilhouetteSilhouetteSilhouette I’ve buckled down recently to finish my online courses early so I can focus on my blog and on traveling (without that nagging thought in the back of my mind that I’ve got some math and science waiting on my desk for me). Consequently, I didn’t do very much aside from schoolwork for the past two weeks. I’ve spent a majority of my time at the library . . . which reminds me of an awkward moment I had this afternoon. I was sitting next to a pretty attractive Spanish boy and at one point he leans over–I’m thinking, Oh yeaaah–to tell me my computer charger is burning. Sure enough, I look down and it’s smoking and my adapter is burnt . . . so awkward!! I only have like 5 mins left on my computer, so he says I can borrow his charger. As he’s reaching down to plug it in, the outlet starts smoking right as his adapter touches it. In the end, I have to get up and move somewhere else. Oh!! And when I sit down at my new table, my water bottle spills all over. You could say I got a lot of attention today;) p.s. my fingers still smell like electrical smoke as I’m writing this!!
Anyways, a few days ago my dad and I got up early and walked down to the Mediterranean, basically my favorite place, and watched the sunrise. I swear, there is a beautiful sunrise every morning. No, honestly. It’s like a religious experience to sit on a practically desolate beach and watch the sun rise and the ocean become a mirror of all the brilliant, changing hues. As the sky transformed from a soft pink to a vibrant orange, I asked myself, Why don’t I watch the sunrise every morning!! Then I remembered that I’m a night owl and I don’t go to bed till 12 or 1 . . . maybe 2, and I love to sleep in. But I also realized that sometimes you have to do things you don’t want to and find a balance in your life. Although I didn’t want to get out of those warm and heavenly sheets that morning, I made myself, and I’m so glad I did because the sky was beautiful! So, although I don’t really want to do any math and physics, the sooner I finish, the sooner I can focus on things that don’t make me want to rip my hair out and put a hole in the wall (don’t worry, I don’t actually do those things . . . but I have thrown my pencil(s) over the balcony of our apartment before).

OMG, I just found your site and I love it! I love that you’re living in Spain! (Jealous!)

Aww, it may seem awkward, but that was a cute moment! I’m such a spaz around cute boys. I’m a spaz around my boy (who lives in Australia and I only get to visit him once a year). I always feel awkward, but he’s always smiling when I’m spazzing.

Thank you!! And I’m so glad you totally understand how I feel!! And I think I’d probably be an extra spaz around someone with an Australian accent so I’m with you girl;)
